Evaluations provide diagnostic clarification and identify strengths and difficulties to help determine specific and individualized interventions. Evaluations also provide the documentation needed for pursuing special education services, accommodations at school and on standardized tests, consideration for the Academically & Intellectually Gifted (AIG) program, and insurance coverage for certain therapies (e.g., ABA). Assessments are tailored to fit a client’s needs and can include: cognitive abilities, executive functions, attention, memory, processing speed, reasoning abilities, phonological processing, visual motor integration, social communication, socioemotional functioning, and academic achievement (i.e., reading, writing, math).
