Families will receive detailed information about a child’s processing skills, learning profile, and/or socioemotional functioning. With this knowledge, they can explore strategies to promote optimal performance and improve overall functioning. Along with evaluation findings, parents will receive referrals to specialists and intervention programs that will best meet their child’s needs. When helpful, a child may meet with us for a feedback session about their learning profile to further develop their self-awareness and self-advocacy skills.
Common recommendations for interventions include:
- Tutoring
- Educational remediation programs
- Pursuing school-based services, including an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or 504 Accommodation Plan
- Assistive technology
- Online resources
- Applied behavior analysis (ABA) for autism spectrum disorder
- Therapy
- Social skills groups
- Referral for additional evaluations (e.g., occupational therapy, speech and language, functional behavioral assessment)
